Natalie Merchant never ceases to amaze me!

From her provocative Ophelia to her folk songs extraordinaire...

Natalie Merchant has a way with sound and words that hit the timeless spot for I, MISS KRISTIN.

I've been lucky enough to see her a few times live in concert and my...oh my...
Natalie Merchant IS a great performer!

She will boldly strut across the stage in a physicians lab coat and then a few moments later frolic in a dance and skirt all her own.
I was impressed when she sat down at her grand piano and accompanied herself in "Life Is Sweet".

(what a great song)

She has the ability to easily bring me to tears.  Her vocals and lyrics piercing my soul with love and truth.

I have spent years training my voice, practicing to her songs.
I would stick a CD in my stereo and practice her whole album from beginning to end to improve my vocal strength.
I felt transcendent... out of body so to speak...when I would do this....all my pain would wash away.
I was singing and dancing...till there was nothing else... my four walls...a candle...
 by myself...in my home...with my dream of becoming a great artist growing graciously.

I will always remember that time fondly. 

Natalie Merchants songs were a big part of my pleasure and practice. 
I was holding on and pretending I was the performer on stage singing those songs!
